HABITAT ENHANCEMENT IN THE NORTHERN PRAIRIES

The presence of wild pollinators can improve the productivity of insect-pollinated crops such as canola.  Consequently, landowners are being encouraged to maintain and grow wildflower patches to provide habitat for important wild pollinators, such as bumblebees and sweat bees.  I identified several wild plants in the Canadian prairies that can provide food to canola pollinators.
